In a civilized society, discourse is very important. With the advent of time several conflicts have demonstrated the same in a very acute manner and it was WW2 that led to the creation of the United Nations that took the reigns after its preceding body, The League of Nations, had failed in the execution of its duties.

The United Nations, with its unique collection of bodies and organs specific in nature has to a large extent dealt, successfully, with complex geopolitical predicaments. Alongwith the UN system, came the birth of the Model United Nations. It was meant to simulate the workings of the UN to foster the collaborative spirit among people across the world. For the first time the world was working as one team, towards peace and prosperity and part of it has been played by the mun conferences worldwide in moulding the diplomats of tomorrow.

In India there are several circuits that host prominent conferences each year however in the NE state of Tripura there seemed to be a void. Fortunately NIT Agartala's MUNSOC has taken on the responsibility of leading from the front and has in the short span of 12 months established itself as one of the most elite mun societies in the entire North East India.

MUNSOC functions in a different way compared to more traditional mun societies, we have a plethora of internal events spearheaded by our very own KACE, the General Championship ensures that the competitive spirit and benchmarks of excellence are maintained by the 4 Houses of MUNSOC.

With NITAMUN 1.0 (6th-7th January 2024) MUNSOC proved its mettle by hosting an exceptional one-of-a-kind online mun conference that saw participation from over 25 states which was followed by the first offline mun conference in NITA as part of Aayam 9.0, we are also indebted to our esteemed partners namely:
